seeing beyond questions
Anyone who has known me for any length of time knows that I talk a lot about the power of good questions.
Powerful open-ended questions were at the heart of my first interview series 5 Minutes to Process Improvement Success. And they are at the heart of CONTAINER13 and the Exploring Forward-Thinking Workplaces™ interviews.
Good questions create a context for seeing things from a whole new perspective and creating something new and unexpected. They are enormously powerful when they are asked from the perspective of “How can we make this work for everyone?”
Now I find myself asking a LOT fewer questions.
How did that happen?
This past year I experienced the most profound shift.
It occurred last August when I encountered something known as the 3 Principles.
The 3 Principles help you understand how the mind really works.
I experienced a profound shift that has already impacted me in many amazing and unexpected ways.
The first shift was a quieting of my mind. Suddenly my circumstances in life and what was happening out there weren’t filling my mind with a lot of chatter.
What’s the big benefit of that you ask?
When the mind quiets, it creates space for a greater intelligence, a greater wisdom if you will to come forward.
Anyone who has known me for at least a year has seen a big shift in my work. Everything has moved to the next level. The ideas just show up and flow.
Over the past two months, we’ve published several interviews with people whose work involves the 3 Principles.
I’d like to share a quote from our latest interview with Mara Gleason, Co-founder of One Solution:
I think there’s something so lovely—if adults could just let go of all the questioning and be in a state of life and wonderment without needing to know answers. You get answers and learning about life, but it’s not necessarily what you thought you were going to get, but it’s just as rich if not richer.
Please check out the interview with Mara to learn more about the 3 Principles and the many insights she shared at Unleashing the Next Differentiator—The Human Operating System.
Please share what you find most intriguing in this interview.
To your great work life & success!
